On 25 June 2012, I drafted my first Elected Member’s Motion. It was a little clumsy I have to admit but nevertheless I was compelled to put it after I read the following article in the Post on the previous Friday.
The article revealed an unpublished DAP decision to approved a development application for a four storey office building with basement at 125-135 Railway Road, Subiaco which is reserved for Public Use – Hospital.
My EMM proposed the following:
That elected Subiaco Council members of the DAP resign immediately and that this Council no longer support the DAP in its current form,
On Tuesday 26 June the EMM was put. It was deferred to the next meeting of the Development Services Committee so that further research could be undertaken by staff.
Unfortunately I couldn’t see through my EMM. I had taken a leave on absence for July. At the DSC meeting the Motion lapsed without a mover and a seconder.
