REPRESENTING SUBIACO, SHENTON PARK, DAGLISH AND JOLIMONT
The Subiaco Business Association has invited the Lord Mayor of Perth to speak at its event in August. It is not clear how the SBA makes its decisions to promote one mayor instead of another or one government policy over another.
The SBA seem to agree with Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi vision that “SUBIACO should provide more parking, and encourage commuters to park and ride to the city” and that “Subiaco needed to create its own character and determine a specialty for the area, such as the home of fashion”.
Last time I checked Subiaco did not want to be a parking lot for commuters going to the City of Perth. Subiaco has an abundance of character dating back to 1897 and has been the home of football for the same length of time, a specialty for the area.
I’m not sure what to make of the SBA’s motives to promote Subiaco as a parking lot for the City of Perth, and that it should be the home of fashion when retail is undergoing a transformation! October elections will be interesting.
