Visit Subiaco – Activities and promotions

Now that forced #council amalgamations have been rescinded by the Governor General…  Visit Subiaco has some upcoming events for the community and business to promote and enjoy:

Subiaco’s Town Centre and Forrest Walk will come alive with activities for children. The program includes:

  • Easter egg hunt: 11am on both Saturdays (28 March, 4 April in Forrest Walk )
  • Easter egg hunt: 1pm on Thursday 2 April in Forrest Walk
  • children’s colouring in competition where they could win a hamper full of children’s products valued at over $100. The winner will be drawn at 4pm on Tuesday 7 April
  • face painting for children
  • family photo opportunities and giveaways with roving Easter Bunny and Mother Nature characters who will be wandering throughout the Town Centre giving out small chocolate Easter eggs.

In a review of Subiaco’s policies on Civic Matters it was found that “The City has proclaimed 10 April as Subiaco Day to commemorate establishment of the Subiaco Road Board in 1896”. The policy also states that the City of Subiaco colours are maroon and gold, and its slogan is ‘There’s something about Subiaco’.

This year on Friday 10 April 2015, the following events have been organised:

Location: Subiaco Museum

Time: 11.30am to 2.30pm

  • children’s activities
  • self-guided heritage walks
  • a community postcard sharing activity
  • displays showcasing Subiaco’s unique and diverse history and heritage.

Any community groups and businesses wishing to host a SUBIACO DAY event will be provided free promotion through local media, social media and Subiaco’s online events calendar. Please contact Matthew Gould to arrange this: placemanagement@subiaco.wa.gov.au
