West Coast Eagles petition

A big thank you to everyone who signed the petition to make Subiaco Oval the FOREVER home of the West Coast Eagles.

At Subiaco Council’s meeting last night, I presented a petition to the Board of the West Coast Eagles and the Mayor of Subiaco from the Subiaco Village Retailers Association to make Subiaco Oval the FOREVER home of the West Coast Eagles.  The petition was correctly signed by 519 people from suburbs right across Perth, including a signature from one of Australia’s highest profile sportsman.  You can ask me who that was.

Subiaco Oval offers the West Coast Eagles so much more in redevelopment opportunities and training facilities.  The oval’s location offers unique training options of Kings Park, Mueller Park, Kitchener Park, Lake Monger and is close to Perth’s beautiful beaches.

The location of Subiaco Oval offers footy fans something as well.

  • New residential housing planned for Princess Margaret Hospital, and the western and northern ends of Subiaco Oval.
  • Train rides to and from the new stadium.
  • Shopping and entertainment in Subiaco’s high streets
  • Club facilities for the 61,000 Eagles members
  • and much more with the sinking of the railway line.

Imagine how much stronger West Coast Eagles’ supporter base will be with this community of footy fans.

Now its up to Subiaco Council to do everything possible to persuade the Premier of Western Australia, Mr Barnett, to support this petition and make the Subiaco Oval the FOREVER home of the West Coast Eagles and their footy fans.
