Subiaco Annual Electors’ Meeting

DATE: Tuesday 8 December 2015     TIME:  6pm   VENUE: The Palms, 420 Rokeby Rd

This meeting is for Subiaco electors to receive Subiaco’s Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2014/2015.

Electors are invited to ask questions of the Mayor and the CEO, and move their own motions to be put before Council.  Questions with notice can be answered at the Meeting.

Please see the Minutes from the 2014 Annual Electors’ Meeting to help you understand what can be achieved at this meeting.

For example see page 6, Electors’ Motion 1: listing 16 trees located in the Town Centre.  This motion was passed by Council on 16 December 2014, a week later after the Electors’ Meeting.

There are some issues which, with elector support as motions, can be bought before council at its next meeting.  Here’s some to consider:

  • The reduction in residential parking permits.
  • Lack of signage in Subiaco to assist visitors
  • Demolition of single homes without planning approval
  • Poor lighting in our parking, shopping and entertainment precincts
  • Lack of interest shown by our Member for Nedlands in Subiaco’s loss of residents, UWA and hospitals contained in the City of Perth Bill currently before Parliament.
  • Attracting the right businesses to Subiaco
  • Use of verge collections to recycle unwanted household goods
  • Better use of the City’s assets to put downward pressure on rates
  • Taking necessary steps to ensure the Premier honour’s the Vesting Order and WA Football Commission’s 99 year lease over Subiaco Oval with Subiaco Council.
